HVC – PROMOTING WASTE SEPARATION

Everyone plays their part in creating a cleaner world. Dutch company Huis Vuil Centrale (HVC) is actively contributing to this effort. They produce and supply green energy, and focus on sustainable management practices, serving over fifty municipalities and water authorities. HVC approached Sarawak Nederland to support this mission, with the goal of encouraging consumers to reduce their residual waste.

The approach was not about reprimanding people; instead, HVC wanted to engage in meaningful conversations with consumers. Sarawak’s role was to facilitate these discussions, with different teams going out to speak with people about waste separation. The topics of these conversations varied depending on the region and current issues. Locations also influenced the focus of the discussions. For example, at hardware stores, the conversation often centered around separating bulky waste, while at supermarkets, it typically focused on food waste separation.

The purpose of these conversations was not to correct behavior, but to activate citizens through a personal approach. This allowed individuals to ask questions and receive tailored information from Sarawak’s promoters. Sarawak Nederland is passionate about contributing to a better environment, and initiating these kinds of discussions is a positive step toward that goal.

Sarawak was responsible for more than just providing the promoters for HVC. The company managed the entire process, handling everything from selecting locations to organizing giveaways and securing any necessary permits.

The results were impressive. On average, each team held 300 meaningful conversations per Saturday (around 60 conversations per hour). Additionally, each team distributed about 350 flyers. This collaboration led to a long-term partnership between HVC and Sarawak Nederland, establishing a structured and effective working relationship.
